PHOENIX — A 17-year-old girl was shot and killed early Saturday morning at an apartment complex in Avondale, according to the Avondale Police Department.
Officers responded around 6:27 a.m. to reports of a shooting near Rancho Santa Fe Boulevard and McDowell Road, where they found Rhiana Kemplin, 17, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Kemplin was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Investigators have not announced any arrests, and the suspect remains at large. Police said the case remains an active investigation.
