Phoenix, AZ – A 17-year-old girl, Edith Ochoa, tragically died in an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) rollover accident early Monday morning, according to the Phoenix Police Department. The crash occurred around 4 a.m. as Ochoa was driving westbound on Beardsley Road near 47th Avenue.
Authorities said Ochoa lost control of the ATV after veering off the road and onto a dirt shoulder, causing the vehicle to roll. Ochoa was ejected from the ATV and pronounced dead at the scene.
A 20-year-old male passenger, who was riding with Ochoa, sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Police confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.
