TEMPE, Ariz. — A 1-year-old boy has died a week after being rescued from an apartment complex pool in Tempe, police announced Tuesday.
Emergency crews were called to the complex near Baseline and Rural roads on Aug. 24, when the child was discovered unresponsive in the water. Tempe police said officers and firefighters quickly responded, and medical teams were able to restart the boy’s heart and stabilize him before transporting him to a nearby hospital.
Despite the initial lifesaving measures, authorities confirmed the child passed away over Labor Day weekend.
Police have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the drowning.
