Two Arizona Venue Concession Stands Rank Top 10 In Food Safety Inspection Report

Through the collection and study of over 16,000 food safety inspection reports by ESPN from health departments that monitor all 111 American professional sports venues.

The investigation discovered that at least half of the food stations at committed high-level violations at about 28 percent of the venues that include football, baseball, basketball and hockey. The violations pose potential threats for food-borne illnesses.

Included in the violation types were food temperature, employee-related issues (such as handwashing or use of gloves), pests or bugs, poor food condition and equipment issues.


Two Arizona venues ranked in the top 10 in terms of least number of violations and two others came in at the middle of the pack. 

The homes of the Arizona Cardinals and Arizona Coyotes both cracked the top 10, with State Farm Stadium ranking eight and Gila River Arena being No. 10. 

No. 57 and 58 respectively, Chase Field in Phoenix and Talking Stick Resort in Phoenix are the homes of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Phoenix Suns.
