Thieves Strike Arcadia This Summer

In a central Phoenix neighborhood, summer has been less than joyful as residents of the area are on high alert after a string of thefts.  However, some neighbors find they have more than just the place they live in common, several have reported seeing these same thieves make more than one stop recently.

The original incident, which occured near 42nd street and Osborne Road in the Arcadia community, entailed the theft of about $1,100 dollars worth of property in less than a few hours. The culprits, described as both to be Hispanic, one woman with medium length black hair, and a male who was with her. The woman was seen to be wearing dark pants and a green tank top, with a tattoo on her lower back, while the man appeared to be wearing a tank top with dark pants. The thieves were seen stealing a set of patio furniture from a woman’s house in the evening of Tuesday. The furniture was taken right from the family’s doorstep, while they slept inside.

Kim, the woman who resides in the home, says she doesn’t expect to get her furniture back. She is however very disconcerted that someone would swipe her furniture right from her front yard, seemingly out in the open. Kim posted a warning on an app called Nextdoor, and discovered even more shocking truth. These thieves seemed to be regulars in the neighborhood.

According to her neighbors, they had also been seen taking cash and a computer from a car earlier that evening, as well as having been caught trying to lift tools from a truck parked in the neighborhood. Residents of the area have taken pictures, and published a description of the car, which is described to be a white GMC Yukon with black rims. Those residing in the area have also been circulating photos of the thieves themselves, in order to bring awareness and aid in police in their search. The neighborhood appears to have had some of their summer joy stolen as they are now on the watch for these two bold thieves, who would even stoop low enough to perform acts of theft in broad daylight. Kim, the victim who had her patio furniture stolen, has filed a police report concerning the missing furniture, and hopes that these thieves are brought to justice.
