Samsung Looks To Go Green By 2020

Samsung, the world’s largest consumer electronics company has decided to go green. The company recently announced plans for its facilities in the U.S., Europe, and China to run on 100 percent renewable energy by 2020. In addition to moving toward renewable energy itself, Samsung also plans on helping its largest 100 suppliers move toward green energy. These moves could have a massive impact on Samsung’s global manufacturing footprint, but also shows the importance of corporate participation in reducing emissions.

While Samsung’s move is important and will make it one of the first large electronic companies to go green in Asia, it is well behind other large electronic companies in making the move. Despite being late to the game, Samsung’s move to renewable energy is a huge win for environmentalists and the fight against climate change.
