The 2019 the 4.2 mile race event will take place on April 27, with the race to begin at Arizona State University’s Tempe campus and wind through Tempe to finish at Sun Devil Stadium. All finishers will receive a limited-edition Race Shirt and Pat’s Run Collector Medal.

Zeke Warzeka, events and operations manager for the Pat Tillman Foundation, said he expects the 4.2-mile run/walk to sell out for the third consecutive year.

“For those individuals that are still trying to figure out if they’re going to sign up or not, we would definitely recommend to sign up sooner rather than later,” Warzeka said.

Participants can register at the Pat Tillman Foundation website.

Pat Tillman was a standout football star at ASU and continued his athletic career by playing professionally for the Arizona Cardinals. In the wake of the 9/11 tragedy, Tillman left the NFL to serve in the military for his country.

In 2004, Tillman was killed by friendly fire in Afghanistan and was posthumously awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart.

Proceeds from Pat’s Run benefit the Pat Tillman Foundation, which provides scholarships and support for military veterans and their spouses.
