Fulton Homes wants to help you protect your dog’s feet this summer by teaming up with PetSmart to offer free booties.  Booties can be found from 11 am – 1 pm at the following PetSmart stores:

There are additional ways to keep your dog’s feet safe this summer.  Plan to walk your dog in the cooler parts of the day – in the early morning or late evening.  Try to stay on grassy surfaces that will be a little cooler and softer for your dog’s feet. Before you walk, put your hand on the pavement for 10 seconds.  If the pavement is too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for your dog.  It’s always a good idea to put the booties on for added protection.

If your dog does end up with burned feet, you may need to see your veterinarian for antibiotics or pain medication.  If the burns are not too severe, you can bandage the feet yourself.
