Police Search For Suspect In Double Homicide In Phoenix’s Roosevelt Row

Phoenix Police are continuing to search for the suspect connected to a double homicide in Central Phoenix.

Detectives believe that a late 90s white Dodge Durango may be connected to the double murder.

The shooting occured around 3:30 a.m. on Friday, October 5th, near Third Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue. Zak Walter, 24, and David Bessent, 41, were walking home from work when police say they were shot and killed. Both men worked at Jobot Coffee. Investigators believe that robbery may have been the motivation behind the shooting.

They hope someone will recognize the SUV and comes forward.

“It could be as simple as somebody saying, ‘You know, I have a neighbor. I have a friend who has a vehicle of that description who just seems overly preoccupied with this case,'” said Sgt. Tommy Thompson with the Phoenix Police Department.

If you know anything about the double murder, please call the Phoenix Police Department at 602-262-6151 or Silent Witness at either 480-WITNESS (948-6377) or 1-800-343-TIPS (8477). Spanish speakers may call 480-TESTIGO (837-8446). (Click or tap phone number to call from this story on your mobile device.) There’s a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
