Market, Skating and Tree Lighting Coming to CityScape on Black Friday

For those wanting to adjust the basic Black Friday routine, CityScape provides everything people are looking for and more.

The downtown Phoenix retail complex will hold its Alternative Black Friday Vintage Market on the day following Thanksgiving. The event will consist of a lighting ceremony for the “Unity Tree,” along with the debut of a skating rink.

The market will be open from noon until 7 p.m. in the location of Washington Street and Central Avenue. The skating rink will be open from noon until 11 p.m. and will be open until Jan. 6, including Christmas. The Unity Tree lighting ceremony will take place in the center of the ice rink at 6 p.m.

Santa will arrive at 3:30 p.m. on Black Friday and will make return visits on every Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 23.

Over 24 local vendors have already secured their place in the market and will sell items such as furniture, clothing, jewelry and more.

Stretching 30-feet high, the Unity Tree is an interactive sculpture built with programmable LED lights that can be adjusted with the push of a button by all visitors.

Details about skating tickets, Santa visits and more can be found at the CitySkate website.
