Luxury Wing Now Open At Scottsdale Fashion Square

Having spent millions of dollars and having lasted more than a year, Scottsdale Fashion Square’s new luxury wing is completed and open for business.

Owen by Santa Monica-based Macerich Co, the 57-year-old mall is shifting its attention towards higher-end customers by creating clusters that consist of luxury retailers. The area will also consist of additional restaurants and bars.

The wing begins at the Dillard’s and Neiman Marcus section of the mall.

With help from Macerich’s leasing team, several new retailers include Trina Turk, Saint Laurent and Breiting. The wing’s renovations also include upgrades to the existing storefronts for Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo, Gucci and Lululemon.

The wing’s bears a luxury theme and features a large chandelier in the north entryway, a column wrapped with LED-lit panels, new tile and marble accents.

In full, the project was estimated to cost between $140 and $180 million.

A flagship Apple store and a large, two-story co-working space are additional new retail options in the mall.

Over the course of the next year, numerous other retailers and restaurants will open either inside or just outside of the mall’s renovated wing.

The shopping center is also eyeing future changes that will help it remain ahead of the changing retail landscape. Included in those changes will be using mall space for unique, internet-proof businesses.

In addition to space inside of the Scottsdale Fashion Square, Macerich is looking at options to utilize the land outside of the mall for multifamily housing, Class A offices and a hotel.
