Hugh Jackman’s World Concert Tour To Make Glendale Stop In July

The multitalented and versatile Hugh Jackson has announced a world concert tour that will begin in 2019 and will make a stop in Phoenix in July.

Capable of singing, acting, dancing and producing, Jackman’s tour title gives some insight into what can be expected: “Hugh Jackman: The Man. The Music. The Show.”

Glendale’s Gila River Arena will welcome Jackman to the Valley on July 14, with tickets set to go on sale at 10 a.m. on Dec. 7 through Ticketmaster.

The tour will begin on May 13 with 12 European performances, before shifting to 22 shows throughout North America.

Jackman will be joined by a live orchestra, backup singers and dancers with the group to perform songs from his hit musical movies “The Greatest Showman” and “Les Misérables” as well as an assortment of Broadway and film favorites.

When the tour was announced on Thursday, Jackson shared with the “Today Show” that shows will also feature personal stories and special guests along the way.

Another thing he promised was “It’s not ‘Wolverine: The Musical’,” in reference to his iconic role in the X-Men comic book movies.

Along with having played the superhero role as Wolverine, Jackman has won Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe awards and was nominated for the Academy Award for best actor for his performance as Jean Valjean in the 2012 film version of “Les Misérables.”

His latest cinema performance debuted in theaters last week as he plays doomed presidential candidate Gary Hart in “The Front Runner.”
