Fourth of July Fun

The Fourth of July is right around the corner, and the Phoenix area is gearing up for the celebration. The patriotic holiday lands on Wednesday for 2018, and there are many events before and after this national celebration.

The Events

On June 30th, After Dark in the Park is taking place in Phoenix. It lasts from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, and the fireworks begin at 8:45 pm. Deer Valley Park hosts this fun celebration, and it features live entertainment, inflatables, food trucks, and booths.
 


Anthem’s Independence Day Celebration is on July 3rd and is in the community park in Anthem, lasting from 6:00 to 10 pm with fireworks at 9:30 pm.

The event features activities, rides, and fair food. Visitors can bring blankets and lawn chairs.

The city of Scottsdale has it’s 4th of July Celebration on July 4th from 4:00 to 9:00 pm with the fireworks as the finale. This event at WestWorld will have a petting zoo, a dog show, a BMX show, a Dino Crew, rides, a rodeo, and food and drinks.

Advance adult tickets are $15, and VIP adult tickets — which includes reserved seating for the firework show, unlimited VIP food and beverages, and a photobooth — are $25.

Advance kid tickets are $12 and advance VIP kid tickets are $30. Any kids under five will receive free admission.

The Phoenix Zoo hosts its animal-tastic celebration on July 4th from 7:00 to 10:00 pm with fireworks at 9:00 pm. Visitors will experience a day full of fun with free carousel rides and special animal displays.

Tickets for those 13 years or older are $45, tickets for kids 3-12 are $35, and admission is free for those 2 or under. 

Tempe’s Town Lake Festival is on July 4th from 5:00 to 10:45 pm, and their fireworks display starts at 9:20 pm.

The fireworks will be shot from Mill Avenue Bridge and include a choreographed display with popular music. There will also be a family festival and food court.

The July 4th Fireworks Spectacular in Chandler will take place from 6:30 to 9:30 pm with fireworks at 9:00 pm at Tumbleweed Park.

There will be a $5 parking fee for each vehicle.

The Westgate Firework Fest in Glendale is on July 4th from 5:00 to 9:30 pm at the Westgate Entertainment District.

It’ll feature two stages, a water zone, adult beverages, family fun zones, and a large array of food from local restaurants.

Admission is free.

Mesa’s Arizona Celebration of Freedom is on July 4th from 6:00 to 10:00 pm with their pyrotechnic show at 9:300 pm at the Mesa Amphitheater.

It’s free, and it offers: live music, a naturalization ceremony, patriotic displays, Revolutionary War reenactments, and family fun events.
 

The Hometown Fireworks Celebration at Apache Junction takes place on July 4th at 6:00 to 9:00 pm with fireworks beginning at 8:300 pm.

It’ll be held at the Apache Junction High School football stadium, and it’ll offer: food, live entertainment, games, a wagon and tricycle decorating contest, and water slides.

The Fabulous Phoenix 4th will be on July 4th from 6:00 to 10:00 pm, and the light show will be at 9:30 pm. The event will be held at the Steele Indian School Park.

It’ll be the celebration’s 33rd annual event, and it’ll feature the biggest fireworks display in the area. It’s a free event, but alcohol is prohibited.

There will be two stages with international recording artists, a classic car display, arts and crafts, and vendors with festival foods and beverages. Kids will have a great time too: the event offers rides, inflatables, and a water zone.

Peoria is hosting its All-American Festival at the Peoria Sports Complex on July 4th. It’ll take place from 5:00 to 10:00 pm with fireworks at 9:15 pm.

The festival will offer food eating contests, a cornhole tournament, live entertainment, and a water zone.

If you love baseball, the D-backs will play the Colorado Rockies on July 4th at 7:10 pm at Chase Field. The game will also include fireworks.
