Fare Sale

Good news for airline travelers, Southwest Airlines is having another fare sale. The prices are not as lowly priced as they were the last time the company had a fare sale but the deals might allow you to afford to take a fall break away from Arizona.

Prices begin at $64 one way. In order to get this price, you need to book your flight by July 27 to travel between August 22 and December 13 of this year.

If you think that would be a great way to escape the Arizona heat on the cheap, it might not be. Southwest is only offering a handful of cities to fly from Phoenix for the lowest fare which include Las Vegas, Albuquerque and El Paso, Texas.

However, if you’re looking for a cooler climate to visit, a one-way trip to Denver is $73, fares to the California cities of San Diego and San Francisco start at $89, and a one-way trip to Seattle is $95.

The most-expensive offering to a one-way nonstop fare for the sale is to Philadelphia at $184. That is followed by two major cities in Oklahoma (Oklahoma City or Tulsa). There might be reasons behind Oklahoma’s relatively expensive fares but it is better not to guess why.

For those noticing the dates of travel see that travel dates of Thanksgiving occur during this fare sale. Southwest does know better than to cut dates through the most popular period of travel during the year. Blackout dates include the travel period of Thanksgiving, November 21-22 and 25-27. Also of the many restrictions are blackout dates of all Fridays and Sundays, so a quick weekend trip isn’t possible with this sale.
