Devin Booker Signs Five-Year, $158 Million Contract With Suns

The Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker signed a five-year $158 million maximum contract on July 7, 2018. The deal made Booker the highest paid player in Suns’ franchise history. The contract is effective for the 2019-2020 season.

Booker came out of Kentucky and was the 13th overall pick in the 2015 draft. He has averaged 19.8 points per game over the three NBA seasons. In February he won the NBA All-Star 3-point contest. Then, this March, Booker became the third-youngest player to reach 4,000 career points behind LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

The 21 year old guard is the foundation for the Phoenix Suns’ rebuilding plans. The Suns recently added first round picks Deandre Ayton and Mikal Bridges to their young, but talented line up. If Booker continues producing and the young Suns hit their stride, this team could be a lot of fun to watch.
