Cindy McCain, widow of Senator John McCain, is returning to North Central Phoenix.

According to public real-estate records, The Cindy Hensley McCain Family Trust purchased a 5,000-square-foot home near an estate that the couple sold a decade ago.

Purchased for $2.28 million, the French country-style home features five bedrooms, five bathrooms, marble floors and two laundry rooms, along with a large backyard with a gazebo. 

As John McCain made his second presidential run in 2008, the couple sold an almost 14,500-square-foot house for $3.2 million that was on 2 acres near Central and Glendale avenues.

In 2007, the McCain’s relocated to a new condominium at 24th Street and Camelback Road, near the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix. According to real-estate listings, that condo currently is not for sale.

The house purchased late last week by the McCain trust was sold by Richard and Alejandra Stark.

Cindy McCain is chairwoman of the board and majority owner at Hensley Beverage Co., a role she took over when her father and company founder Jim Hensley died in 2000. A representative for Cindy McCain had yet to respond to requests for comment regarding the house purchase. 

The McCain’s also have a creek-side ranch in Cornville, Arizona, in addition to condos in La Jolla, California; Coronado, California; and Arlington, Virginia; per John McCain’s campaign disclosures from the 2008 presidential race.
