Carvana Opens Car Vending Machine in Tempe

Ever wanted to buy a car out of a vending machine? Now you can.

Carvana, an online car dealership based in Phoenix, has opened a nine story car vending machine in Tempe. Customers can visit the new vending machine and drop a coin into the slot, lowering a new car down, ready to drive.

The process begins on Carvana’s online shopping platform where customers are able to spend a fraction of the time searching for the right car. Ryan Keeton, Carvana’s co-founder, states “The pick-up process typically takes only minutes, compared to hours haggling at the dealership.”

Rather than spending hours at a car dealership, dealing with a nagging salesperson, Carvana offers a fully online experience for their customers. You can search and view their catalog of vehicles from the comfort of your home. Keeton claims the process can take as little as 10 minutes.

The site also has financing, trade-in, contract, and car registration capabilities.

After purchasing the car online, customers can choose a free delivery to their home, or a free pickup from one of 11 novel vending machines, Tempe included.

If you’re not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, Carvana has a 7-day return policy.

Carvana’s Tempe vending machine location is open Monday—Saturday, 9 AM—7 PM and is located at 707 East Gilbert Drive off of Scottsdale Road, north of the loop 202.
