Assistant U.S. Attorney Named As Election Rights Protector In AZ

The United States Attorney General’s Office has announced the appointment of a district election officer for next week’s midterm elections in Arizona. Assistant U.S. Attorney Todd Allison, in consultation with the Department of Justice, has been assigned to handle complaints of election fraud and voting rights abuses for Arizona citizens.

“Our democracy relies upon free and fair elections, and we are asking for community support to help us ensure that every eligible voter can freely exercise his or her right to vote,” said First Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth A. Strange regarding the appointment.

Each of the fifty states will be assigned an officer to ensure election integrity. The overall goal of the initiative is to prevent voter intimidation, discrimination, and election fraud.

Todd Allison can be reached on Election Day as long as the polls are open at 602-595-2866. Additionally, agents from the FBI’s field office in Phoenix will be taking calls regarding the polls at 623-466-1999.

Arizona polls will open November 6 at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
