Arizona Tribal Casinos See Gambling Revenue Increase By 4.4%

This quarter, contributions to the state as a result of tribal gambling will reach more than $27 million. The Arizona Department of Gaming has stated that this is a 4.4% increase in comparison to the 2017 fiscal year.

The quarter, which ended on June 30, was the sixth consecutive quarter that saw an increase in Arizona tribal gaming revenue, according to the Department of Gaming director Daniel Bergin.

The funding is going to use at once in various places throughout the state. Over $13 million will go to Arizona’s Instructional Improvement Fund for education. $7 million will be sent in support of trauma and emergency services. Other funds will go to state tourism and wildlife conservation. The remaining funds support the Department’s operating costs.

The contributions are amongst other tribes with Class III casinos, which contribute 1–8% of gross gambling revenue to the state, as well as the towns and counties where they are located.
