Arizona State University To Add Groundbreaking Cancer Research Center

The Arizona Cancer and Evolution Center, a coming edition to Arizona State University’s Biodesign Institute, is going to be a state of the art facility where researchers closely study cancer.

The building’s construction will be funded by an $8.5 million award from the National Cancer Institute.

At present there are only 13 research institutions around the world that partner with the National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Systems Biology Consortium, which means the center at ASU will be an important fourteenth location where researchers will gather and share information regarding the fight against cancer.

Carlo Maley, a professor in the ASU’s School of Life Sciences, will lead the building.
