Arizona Diamondbacks Race Against Cancer

The Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation will receive a financial boost this March. Their annual D-backs Race Against Cancer will be held on March 31, 2018. This local event offers family fun, fitness, special swag, and a way to support those battling cancer, right here in Arizona. The University of Arizona Cancer Center at Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital is sponsoring the competition. An interactive Wellness Zone will offer health information and cancer screenings.

The race starts at Chase Field, located at Third and Jefferson Streets, in downtown Phoenix. The 5K participants will begin their run at 7:15 a.m. and will follow a route through the city. The Banana Boat Family Fun Walk kicks off at 8:30 a.m. and is 1-mile in length. Pets will be not permitted.

The Family Fun Walk costs $20 while children, 12 and under, can register for $5. The 5K costs $40 for all participants. These registration prices will rise by $10 after March 23 and race day registration will not be offered. Proceeds from the event will assist Arizona’s local non-profits in the fight against cancer. All registrants will receive special Diamondbacks merchandise, including a shirt, bag, medal, and a ticket to a Diamondbacks’ game. Click here for more information.
