A Second Zookz Location Will Be Opening in Downtown Phoenix

Zookz Sandwiches, a popular sandwich shop in Central Phoenix, is expanding and opening another location in the Valley. Carol Meyer, the founder, said that another store can be expected to open in downtown Phoenix by the end of July.

The first Zookz was located in front of the Landmark Towers near Central Avenue and Camelback Road, until Meyer decided to move the restaurant to Uptown Plaza. The second location will be on the ground floor of an office building located near First and Washington Streets. Cartel Coffee Lab and Kaleidoscope Juice will neighbor the location.

“I just like the energy down here,” Meyer told the Journal. “It will be a lot busier [than the Uptown Plaza location], but for a shorter period of time.”

Meyer isn’t sure what kind of people are going to be dining at her establishment, and she as well doesn’t know what kind of demand there will be. She did tell the Journal she plans for the new location to be open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Zookz is famous for using a circular grill press that Meyer built and patented on her own, according to the Journal. The unique style and several ingredients is what makes Zookz stand out in town.

Meyer explained that she plans on opening additional locations around the Valley in the future.
